Violence at New Rochelle Station

New Rochelle’s erstwhile “up and coming” status was bumped down another peg after an assault on a commuter departing at New Rochelle station was jumped by six teens, reports the Journal News, resulting in a broken shoulder.

The incident happened around 1:15 Tuesday at Station Plaza and no motive was given.

Kudos to the cops–they got all six teens, none of whom live in New Rochelle.

Reports the paper:

Arrested were: Andrew Matthews, 16, of 423 S. Fulton Ave. in Mount Vernon, Ryan Lawrence, 16, of 3829 Harper Ave. in the Bronx; two 15-year-old boys, one from Mount Vernon and the other from the Bronx; and two 14-year-old Bronx boys. The young boys’ names were not released because of their ages.

You’ll recall the Easter Uprising at New Rochelle four years ago, when hundreds of teens went nutty on Metro-North after being booted out of New Roc City and rioting in the streets.
