This sign is on a concrete wall leading into the main concourse area of Grand Central, some 100 feet from where the train tracks end. So, in order for the sign to do its job and prevent the absent-minded driver from slamming through the wall and injuring people en route to the 5:33 to Mamaroneck, said driver would have to fly through the steel bracket barricade at the end of the track, jump from the track to the platform, and drive along the concrete for 50 feet or so. All of this, while driving the mandatory 2 miles an hour from 59th Street to 42nd.
As PeterFromPort might say, it’s akin to offering directions on a shampoo bottle.

The sign is for the Utility Carts that GCT workers driver around the platforms to clean and “posterize” the trains, also the Med Carts and Law Enforcement Carts that are located all over GCT. It sounds like you might be the one reading the directions on the shampoo bottle.
